24 volt 55 amps continuous, 100 amps peak Current fold back when heat sinks gets hot Reverse polarity protected Conformal coated for water/corrosion resistance PWM output, continuously variable speed from stop to full forward and stop to full reverse. Regenerative braking Output for magnetic brake assembly coil Compact circuit board approx. 3.75" X 5.5". Large heat sink (4.75" X 6.75") is slightly larger than the PCB size. Used for motor control FETs. Electrically isolated w/ mounting holes. Utilizes 6 IRFZ48N power hexfets each rated at 64A. 3 for motor control, and 3 for regenerative braking. 1 IRFZ24N is used for an optional magnetic brake coil control. Controllable manually needing only 1 single component- a standard 5K linear taper potentiometer or by applying a control voltage between the "pot wiper" (PW) terminal and ground. Acceleration and deceleration are fully adjustable to your preferences. This means that if you suddenly apply a full forward or reverse control signal your robot, wheelchair, or electric scooter will not attempt to do a "wheelie" (unless you want it to). The acceleration, forward or reverse will always be smooth, yet still rapid. All you need to try it is to connect +24 volts, a ground, 2 connections to a motor, 1 connection to a start lead and 3 connections to a control potentiometer. Controllable by any micro controller's PWMOUT command. (See programs and schematics elsewhere on this site.) All controllers are brand new. They are designed, primarily, as motor controllers for electric scooters, small golf carts, wheelchairs etc.
MCIPC-50A controllers may be naow ordered with the single ended throttle option. What this means that instead of the normal throttle pot operation (center = off, right of center = forward, left of center = reverse with the distance from center determining speed, the single ended throttle pot operation works in the following manner: Full CCW = off, full CW = full speed. Controller is normally in the "forward" mode. To get into the "reverse" mode, 2 terminals on the board are shorted together either by a switch or electronically.
FLASH! If you have a 2 wheel scooter or an electric bicycle and you want to upgrade to a larger (55A continuous, 100A peak) controller, check out this controller.
